With the recent public support for gay marriage by hip hop artists like Jay Z, Kanye and A$AP Rocky, I think this disclosure heralds a massive step forward in a community that has not always been so tolerant or welcoming to all things LGBT.
The revealing tumblr post comes after speculation surrounding recent gender-fuxxed lyrics from his unreleased album Channel Orange
According to BBC1, “On the songs ‘Bad Religion’ ‘Pink Matter and ‘Forrest Gump’ you can hear him sing about being in love and their are quite obvious words used like ‘him’ and not ‘her.’”
Whatevs. Aside from the fact that I may not get to have his babies one day, this really changes nothing about my love for Frank Ocean and his incredible musical skill. Actually, it does. It makes me <3 him even harder because now there is this added sense of vulnerability and honesty within his lyrics.
